You will be joining an experienced and supportive team where pupils receive personalised support in a calm, nurturing and structured environment.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide individual and small-group support to help pupils access their learning, develop independence and build confidence. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and specialist support staff, using personalised strategies to meet each pupil's individual needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum
- Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEND and complex learning needs
- Encouraging communication, independence and social development
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Helping create a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment
- Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals
- Supporting pupils to achieve their individual targets and goals
Who We're Looking For
We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience working with children or young people in education, care, healthcare or support environments. Relevant experience could include:
- Teaching Assistant
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- Learning Support Assistant
- Support Worker

- Healthcare Assistant

- Nursery Practitioner
- Behaviour Support Worker
Experience supporting SEND, Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs is desirable, but it isn't essential. Most importantly, you'll need to be:
- Patient, calm and compassionate
- Reliable and resilient
- Confident building positive relationships with children
- A strong communicator
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- Keen to develop a career within specialist education
Don't have school experience? That's okay. If you have transferable experience from care, healthcare, residential support, youth work or another setting supporting children or vulnerable individuals, we'd still like to hear from you.
