SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (SEMH / SEND) in Reigate
Full-time, Term-time only, 12 weeks Temp to perm role - training and support provided.

About the RoleWe are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with additional needs including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), autism (ASD), and learning difficulties. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence and emotional regulation within a supportive and structured environment.
What You’ll Be Doing- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Delivering targeted interventions to support learning and behaviour
- Assisting with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and behaviour regulation
- Creating a calm, safe and engaging learning environment
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and SEN staff
- Supporting with personal care or medical needs where required
- SEN Teaching Assistants / SEND TAs / Learning Support Assistants
- Mainstream TAs looking to transition into SEND / SEMH
- Support Workers or Care Workers moving into education
- Individuals passionate about behaviour support, inclusion and SEND
- Experience working with children or young people (school, care or support setting)
- Interest or experience in SEN, SEND, SEMH, autism or behaviour support
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
