What is the role and what team does it sit within?
This is an exciting entry-level role within our R&D team based in Newcastle. As a Graduate Developer, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers developing minor enhancements, features, and bug fixes for our Java applications, ensuring high quality through unit testing and adherence to standards.
Key Responsibilities:
You will complete assigned development tasks to technical specification. Learning and implementing:
- Agile processes
- Development practices
- Source code management
- Testing & Peer Reviews
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Recent graduate with a bachelors degree in either computer science, computer engineering or software engineering.
- Experience (commercial or at University) with any of the following development languages: (Java, C#, Python)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Understanding of functional and object oriented programming paradigms
- Demonstrable skills through university results and project work
- Ideally you will have a natural curiosity and a demonstrated propensity for learning about a broad range of technologies;
- Some understanding and/or practical experience in unit testing
