What is the role and what team does it sit within?

This is an exciting entry-level role within our R&D team based in Newcastle. As a Graduate Developer, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers developing minor enhancements, features, and bug fixes for our Java applications, ensuring high quality through unit testing and adherence to standards.

Key Responsibilities:

You will complete assigned development tasks to technical specification. Learning and implementing:

  • Agile processes
  • Development practices
  • Source code management
  • Testing & Peer Reviews

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Recent graduate with a bachelors degree in either computer science, computer engineering or software engineering.
  • Experience (commercial or at University) with any of the following development languages: (Java, C#, Python)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Understanding of functional and object oriented programming paradigms
  • Demonstrable skills through university results and project work
  • Ideally you will have a natural curiosity and a demonstrated propensity for learning about a broad range of technologies;
  • Some understanding and/or practical experience in unit testing
