- The Qualified Pros (Level 2 & Level 3): Hold a full and relevant Early Years qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, NNEB, Level 3 Early Years Educator diploma). The following pathways do not meet statutory nursery ratio requirements for this tier: Teaching Assistant or Health & Social Care.
- The Experienced Unqualified Heroes: Practical experience in a nursery and a natural, vibrant flair for childcare. Recent, verifiable professional experience is required.

- The Safety Shield: Holding a Full Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate is highly preferred. If not currently held, a commitment to complete training is required.
