Nexter is a specialist recruitment agency supplying private day nurseries across West Yorkshire and London. While our Yorkshire operation is established and market-leading, our London desk represents our biggest commercial growth opportunity. Supported by our dedicated London Business Development Manager and a high volume of inbound permanent requirements, we need a sharp, proactive Recruitment Consultant to take full ownership of the London desk from our Birstall office.

This role is ideal for a commercially driven recruiter who wants the upside of high-margin permanent fees while actively driving and scaling our temporary supply business across the capital.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Temp Desk Fulfilment: Daily morning ring-rounds, managing incoming shift bookings from London nursery managers, and rapidly deploying vetted early years practitioners.
  • Permanent Placements: Servicing regular inbound permanent vacancies (Room Leaders, Deputy Managers, Early Years Educators) to maximize desk revenue.
  • Candidate Sourcing & Vetting: Proactive talent attraction, interviewing, and running fast-track compliance (enhanced DBS, right to work, references, qualifications) via Zoho.
  • Client Engagement: Outbound phone calls to nursery clients to secure upcoming shift rosters, follow up on placements, and identify new business opportunities.
  • High Activity & Pace: Managing a busy desk where speed, strong phone rapport, and commercial drive lead directly to commission.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1+ years in recruitment (resourcing, delivery, or 360), estate agency, high-volume sales, or fast-paced phone-based account handling. (Education, childcare, or temp staffing experience is a major plus).
  • Strong Phone Presence: Confident, articulate, and energised on the phone—you build trust quickly and pick up the receiver naturally.
  • Commercially Driven: Motivated by daily shift targets, billing numbers, and maximising your monthly bonus.
  • Organised Under Pressure: Able to prioritise urgent morning temp coverage while methodically advancing permanent candidate pipelines.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Base + Dual Earning Potential: £27k–£30k basic + uncapped monthly commission across temp shift volume and permanent placement fees.
  • On-Call Pay: Dedicated allowance for out-of-hours rota cover.
  • Modern Office & Tech: Sit-stand desks, dual monitors, modern CRM setup (Zoho), and free on-site parking in Birstall.
  • Hybrid Flexibility: Up to 2 days work from home per week once fully onboarded.
