We're Nexter, a specialist recruitment agency supporting private day nurseries in West Yorkshire and now across London. We're a small, focused team with clear structure and real momentum, and we're looking for an organised, people-smart coordinator to run our London desk from our Birstall office.

If you enjoy talking to people all day, keeping lots of plates spinning, and the satisfaction of a desk that runs like clockwork — this is a great opportunity to join a tight team and genuinely make an impact.

The role

You’ll be the day-to-day engine of our London desk — and the daily relationship touchpoint for London nurseries. You’ll be the voice they know, the person who picks up, and the reason they keep coming back. Our London-based Business Development Manager handles client visits and new business meetings; your job is the desk.

Your day will be a mix of:

  • Bookings & temp coordination
  • Daily ring rounds to temp staff — capturing availability and filling shifts
  • Taking and confirming booking requests from nurseries quickly
  • Keeping the temp pool healthy so you’re never scrambling to fill a shift
  • Candidate work
  • Advertising roles, screening applicants, and conducting registration interviews
  • Managing compliance — DBS, right-to-work, references, qualifications
  • Building strong relationships with your temp team
  • Low pressure business development
  • Daily outbound calls to nurseries — introducing Nexter and re-engaging quiet accounts
  • Identifying opportunities and passing new business leads to the Business Development Manager
  • Logging all activity in our CRM (Zoho) so nothing gets lost

You’ll be supported by a clear daily structure, a hands-on director, and a Business Development Manager who handles the face-to-face side — your job is the desk.

What we’re looking for

You need to be:

  • A confident, natural phone communicator
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Reliable and self-motivated — you hold your own routine
  • Steady under pressure, positive and resilient
  • Someone who enjoys structure and variety in equal measure

It helps if you have:

  • Recruitment, resourcing, or call-handling experience
  • A background in education, childcare, or care staffing
  • Any sales or account management experience
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Zoho or similar)
  • Early years or nursery sector experience is welcome but not essential — we’ll teach you the sector. What we can’t teach is reliability and warmth.

What you get

We’ve put thought into making the office a good place to spend the day — everyone has a sit-stand desk, parking is easy, and we work from home 1-2 days per week.

  • £27–30k salary depending on experience
  • Desk performance bonus
  • 1–2 days working from home per week
  • Sit-stand desks throughout
  • Easy free parking on site
  • Small, supportive team
  • London market exposure with no London travel
  • Casual dress
  • Company pension

Contact us for an informal conversation!

Pay: £27,000–£30,000 + desk performance bonus + on-call allowance

Shift rota: 7am–4pm / 8am–5pm alternating · Mainly office-based · 1–2 days WFH normal

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company pension
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
  • Sick pay
  • Work from home

Work Location: Hybrid based in Batley WF17 9JX
