Nexter recruits great nursery staff for great nurseries. We know that the Five Towns and Allerton Bywater are home to some of the most hard-working practitioners in West Yorkshire. Why spend your life commuting to Leeds or Sheffield when you can work in high-quality private nurseries right here in the WF district?
What to Expect from the Role: Supply work is about more than just "covering." You are a specialist who steps in to save the day. One morning you might be in Pontefract facilitating sensory play for toddlers; the next, you're in Allerton Bywater supporting a Pre-school room with phonics and garden exploration. You are expected to be proactive—if you see a child needs support or a table needs clearing, you jump in. You are the professional that permanent teams rely on.
Requirements
- The Qualification Bar: Qualified Tiers: You must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years (e.g., EYE, NVQ, NNEB). Important Note: We cannot accept Health & Social Care or Teaching Assistant (TA) qualifications for these specific nursery roles.
- Unqualified Tier: If you hold a different qualification (such as a Degree in an unrelated field or a TA cert) but have proven experience working in a nursery setting, we welcome you as an Unqualified Practitioner.
- The 2025 Standard: Under new 2025 regulations, all staff must hold a Full Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate to be counted in ratios. If you don't have this, we will help you arrange the training—but you must be willing to complete it.
