THE ROLE
We're seeking a Deputy Director, Fund Management to support the Head of Fund Management in executing fund strategies and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of multiple investment vehicles.
Acting as a senior leader and deputy in the Head of Fund Management's absence, this role bridges strategic vision with operational execution.
The role is responsible for driving fund performance, maintaining strong governance and compliance standards, managing key stakeholder relationships, and supporting value creation initiatives across the fund portfolio.
The position plays a critical role in sustaining investor confidence, enhancing operational effectiveness, and supporting the long-term growth of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute existing and new fund strategies to meet investment objectives.
- Implement tax strategies and structures to optimise fund performance.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, financial reporting, performance reporting, cash repatriation, and risk management activities across all funds.
- Manage and coordinate fund administrators and asset management providers, including performance oversight.
- Work closely with Investor Relations to support new investor onboarding and investor due diligence processes.
- Collaborate with the investment team on capital raising initiatives and fund structuring activities.
- Ensure compliance with legal structures, fund prospectuses, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across the business, including Executive Committee members.
- Lead, coach, and develop Fund Financial Controllers.
- Act as deputy for the Head of Fund Management, providing leadership continuity and representing the function when required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across fund management processes and reporting.
- Represent the funds in interactions with auditors, regulators, investors, and other external stakeholders.
- Support value creation initiatives by working with teams across Next Energy Capital to drive operational and cost efficiencies.
- Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks that may impact fund performance.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- 7+ years post-qualified experience.
- Experience within renewable energy and/or infrastructure fund management environments.
- Exposure to both UK and international fund structures.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, taxation, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior professionals.
- Experience in project management and process improvement initiatives is highly valued.
- The right to work in the UK.
