We're seeking a Senior Analyst, Investment to join the Investment Management team. The Senior Analyst will be a key member of the team, leading the development and operation of financial tools used to assess opportunities in the solar energy and battery storage sectors across multiple jurisdictions. The role will also support quarterly valuations for NextEnergy's OECD-focused investment funds, including NPIII and NPV, and present valuation outputs to key stakeholders. The role will contribute across the M&A lifecycle for investment, financing and value creation activities, providing a pathway towards a lead investment management role where this direction is sought. The position combines analytical rigour with commercial insight to help deploy capital effectively, manage risk and support portfolio growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and maintain fund and transaction models, including quarterly valuation updates and presentation of results to management.
  • Develop new financial models and business tools for investment and financing transactions in new jurisdictions.
  • Lead the evaluation of new investment opportunities, including analysis of commercial drivers, risk allocation and return enhancement levers.
  • Coordinate with the M&A team to prepare, structure and drive due diligence workstreams.
  • Identify key deal sensitivities and propose actions to improve returns, reduce risk and strengthen acquisition processes.
  • Prepare and finalise IC papers and supporting materials for financing, co-investment and sell-side processes.
  • Support portfolio management and value creation across multiple funds, including performance monitoring, strategic analysis and operational optimisation.
  • Collect and analyse market data to build sector knowledge and support corporate decision-making.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements and model standardisation.
  • Ensure effective communication of complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in cross-functional and international project teams.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, modelling or investment support.
  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure or project finance.
  • Experience valuing infrastructure assets, preferably solar and/or battery storage.
  • Familiarity with investment processes and transaction execution.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling tools.
  • Exposure to cross-functional teams and international projects is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and/or other European languages.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • The right to work in the UK.
