Join a well-established IT solutions provider with over 30 years' experience supporting 400+ client sites nationwide. We're looking for a customer-focused Senior IT Engineer with strong networking expertise to join the growing team.
The Role
You will lead and support networking projects, manage infrastructure, and provide remote and on-site support. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support secure, scalable network solutions across multi-site customer environments.
- Lead the delivery of network and core infrastructure projects, including new installations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Manage and maintain on-prem and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Provide senior-level support for routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN connectivity.
- Administer and support Windows Server environments, virtualised platforms (Hyper-V), and associated services.
- Support and optimise Microsoft cloud technologies, including Azure, Azure AD, Office 365, and Intune.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, and security; proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Implement and maintain security policies, patching, firmware updates, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing remote and on-site support where required.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Work closely with senior management and other technical teams to define standards, policies, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to junior engineers and field teams.
Key Skills Experience
- 4-5 years in a similar senior IT/networking role
- Cisco routers, switches, TCP/IP networking, firewalls (Fortinet), and IT security
- Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Azure AD
- Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Intune
- Apple device support (MDM/Meraki)
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- SQL Server experience beneficial
