Looking to break into tech? This is your chance to start as a Junior QA / Product Tester with a supportive team, learn on the job, and grow into a role that suits your strengths.

My client, a growing tech team in Hertford, is looking for someone with the right mindset rather than prior testing experience.

This role focuses on checking digital products from an end user's perspective. There's no need for technical skills or coding, it's ideal for someone who's tech-confident, observant and enjoys spotting where things could work better.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Reviewing web and mobile platforms to make sure they work as expected
  • Working through checklists to validate layouts, features and usability
  • Logging issues clearly in task tracking tools (e.g. Trello, Jira)
  • Trying out features to uncover anything unexpected or confusing
  • Working alongside developers and product teams to ensure quality
  • Providing insight on user experience and checking fixes once made

They're looking for someone who:

  • Notices small errors or inconsistencies
  • Communicates clearly in writing and verbally
  • Can follow structured processes accurately
  • Manages time well and stays organised
  • Is comfortable using common software, apps and browsers
  • Works well alone and in a team
  • Has a curious, problem-solving approach
  • Can use basic documents or spreadsheets

Progression options:As the team grows, there's scope to move into:

  • Project coordination – planning, organisation and documentation
  • Technical pathways – training and support available if interested

The main priority is attitude, someone happy starting with hands-on testing, eager to learn, and open to developing into a longer-term role that suits their strengths.
