The opportunity
We're building a specialist infrastructure team to support new government contracts, covering critical IT infrastructure. As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be a cornerstone of this team — a technical anchor who can lead on architecture, guide junior colleagues, and keep complex multi-platform environments running to the highest standard.
What you'll be doing
- Leading on Windows and VMware environment management, including VxRail stack and group policy administration
- Owning weekly patch cycles across live and development systems
- Overseeing incident response and daily operations for secure government systems from day one
- Supporting and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers within the team
What we need from you
Essential:
- Senior-level experience managing Windows environments at scale
- Strong VMware expertise, including VxRail and group policy administration
- Experience with patch management and on-call duties in a live environment
- UK national, eligible for high-level security clearance (above standard SC)
Desirable:
- Linux experience across multiple distributions
- Azure DevOps and infrastructure-as-code (Bicep templates)
- Experience supporting government or regulated environments
