We're a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Teesside, and we're on the hunt for a Technical Project Manager to help us keep pace with our expansion. If you love bringing order to complex technical projects and can talk confidently with engineers and clients, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

  • You'll own the delivery of technical projects from scoping through to handover, infrastructure rollouts, cloud migrations, network upgrades, security implementations, and everything in between.
  • Managing end-to-end delivery of technical projects, planning, resourcing, budgeting, risk management, and client communication.
  • Working closely with engineering teams to translate technical scope into deliverable project plans.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for clients throughout project lifecycles.
  • Coordinating third-party vendors and suppliers where required.
  • Keeping projects on time, on budget, and on scope, and communicating clearly when they're not.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of our project delivery processes as we scale.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven track record of end-to-end delivery of technical/IT projects, ideally within an MSP, IT services, or similar technical environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of core IT infrastructure: networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switching), servers, cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, and/or AWS), and virtualisation.
  • Confident using project management methodologies and tools (Prince2, Agile, or similar, PSA/PM tools such as ConnectWise, Autotask, or a bonus).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, equally comfortable in a technical huddle or a client boardroom.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Based in or commutable to Teesside.

Desirable:

  • Relevant certifications (Prince2 Practitioner, PMP, ITIL, or similar).
  • Background in cyber security, cloud migration, or telecoms projects.
  • Experience managing budgets and commercial project reporting.

What's On Offer

  • Salary up to £45,000, with flexibility for the right candidate.
  • A genuinely growing business with real opportunities for career progression.
  • A supportive, close-knit team that values technical curiosity.
  • The chance to shape project delivery processes as we scale.

How to prepare for a job interview at Nextech Group Limited

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
