Role: Senior IT Engineer

Location: On-site, Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Salary: Up to £60,000 + performance bonus

They deliver responsive, high-quality IT solutions to 400+ sites nationwide, and pride themselves on exceptional customer service and long-term client partnerships. This role is ideal for a confident, customer-focused engineer who enjoys variety, ownership, and hands-on technical work.

What you’ll do

• Lead and deliver new installations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects

• Provide expert on-site and remote technical support

• Troubleshoot complex networking issues and maintain system performance

• Implement robust network security and apply patches/firmware

• Plan capacity, optimise performance, and support future growth

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal best practices

• Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, and reporting

• Support project management, scheduling, and cross-team collaboration

What you’ll bring

• 4–5 years in a similar role

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Proven experience with:

• Cisco routers & switches

• Networking & security (TCP/IP, Fortinet firewalls)

• Windows Server (2016–2022), Active Directory, Azure AD

• Azure, Office 365, Intune

• Windows 10/11, Apple devices, MDM (Intune/Apple/Meraki)

• Hyper-V virtualisation

• Backup, DR, and general infrastructure management

• SQL experience is a bonus
