The Role
As a Senior IT Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse client base across a range of industries. The position combines 2nd and occasional 3rd line support responsibilities with project delivery work, providing excellent variety and the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise. You will work closely with both clients and internal teams, acting as a technical escalation point while also contributing to infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and wider IT improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 2nd and some 3rd line technical support across a range of client environments
- Managing and resolving escalated service desk tickets
- Supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Administering Active Directory and Entra ID
- Troubleshooting server, network, and infrastructure issues
- Assisting with the design, implementation, and delivery of IT projects
- Supporting cloud migrations and infrastructure upgrades
- Maintaining high levels of customer service and communication
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Occasional client site visits for project work and technical support
Skills & Experience
We are interested in speaking with candidates who have experience with a number of the following technologies:
- UK Driving License Essential
- Previous experience in a 2nd line MSP support position
- Experience working within an MSP environment would be highly beneficial
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory and Entra ID
- Windows Server
- Exchange Online
- Networking technologies including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewalls
- Virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer‑facing abilities
