We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Internal Sales Support professional to join a busy and growing sales team based in Birmingham. This role is vital to the smooth running of the sales function, providing day-to-day support to the sales team while delivering excellent service to customers.

The Role

Reporting into the Sales Support Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring sales activities run efficiently and customers receive a consistently high level of service. You will work closely with the sales team, customers, and internal departments to support order processing, manage enquiries, and help drive sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the sales team
  • Answer incoming calls professionally and manage messages accurately
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication
  • Raise, confirm, and process sales orders accurately within internal systems
  • Chase and follow up on direct deliveries to ensure timely dispatch
  • Monitor stock availability and manage stock orders to meet customer demand
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve issues impacting sales or delivery
  • Provide quotations for products and services
  • Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently and professionally
  • Support account mapping and provide insights to assist sales planning
  • Make outbound calls to customers and handle inbound sales enquiries
  • Provide cover for sales colleagues during periods of absence
  • Attend customer meetings where required to support the sales process
  • Assist the sales team in achieving individual and team sales targets

  • Strong understanding of customer service within a sales environment
  • Familiarity with sales processes, order processing, and stock management
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
