Job Description

We are looking for a Web Analytics Manager to join our eCommerce Data team at NEXT Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire. The role offers a competitive salary range, private medical insurance, a company bonus, and a company car, among other benefits.

About the role

You will lead a team of seven individuals within the web analytics team in the ecommerce department. You will mentor and develop data analysts and developers specialising in web analytics data implementation and UX analytics, including test and learn. You will act as the bridge between the web analytics team and key stakeholders such as the digital product team, CRO team, system development team, and external platform providers and agencies.

Web Analytics Platform Management

  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of web analytics platforms, including Google Analytics, Firebase, Google Tag Manager, Contentsquare, Google Cloud, and ObservePoint.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements, shape analytics projects, and create structured roadmaps.
  • Build, develop, and maintain data models; anticipate future demands related to data and technology and plan ahead solutions that meet the needs.
  • Transfer knowledge of the digital data delivery processes to business requirements and team workload and priority management.

UX Analytics and Test & Learn Analysis

  • Develop, own, and define analysis of site user journey to maximise business sales impact in funnel progression.
  • Define, create, measure, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital product development.
  • Collaborate with the Conversion optimisation team to guide experimentation from user journey analysis and measure the impact of operational changes.
  • Deliver clear and actionable insights based on data analysis to improve website usability and customer engagement to a range of audiences.

About you

  • Proven experience in managing a team of web analytics professionals, setting priorities, and ensuring high-quality output.
  • In-depth knowledge of the digital data and product development cycle.
  • Experience in conducting UX analytics and site conversion optimisation analysis.
  • Data and business acumen with a deep understanding of data architecture and web analytics implementation.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Ability to communicate complex data and insights in simple language, focusing on key findings and answering the “so what?” question.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Leadership & team management: develop a high performing analytics team and technical individuals.
  • Deep knowledge of web analytics and data platforms, e.g. Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, Contentsquare, Google Marketing, Azure, Databricks, Google Cloud.
