The role involves ensuring our operations remain safe and efficient across our network. You will take on the responsibility of delivering hands-on training that helps the team master the systems required to keep NEXT moving. By building colleague competency and upholding high legal standards, you will directly impact our ability to evolve and deliver for our customers.

What you’ll take on:

  • Lead operational training across your area, covering critical tasks like driver dispatch, debriefing, and tachograph data management.
  • Lead practical yard-based vehicle check training to ensure our fleet meets all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Support the onboarding journey by delivering engaging site tours, yard training, and general inductions for everyone joining the team.
  • Take responsibility for onsite training across key platforms, including Tacho, Continuum, TMS, and Paragon.
  • Collaborate with the Transport Quality and Compliance Managers to review, create, and implement new ways of working across the network.
  • Ensure all office colleagues are up to date with essential training, including manual handling and risk assessments.
  • Support the training department by managing records and coordinating schedules to meet all business objectives.
  • Take the lead on organising transport training courses, from booking venues to managing the candidate experience.

What you’ll bring:

With 3 to 5 years of Transport Operations experience, you will hold a Transport Manager's CPC and have experience and knowledge of transport related systems such as Tacho, Microlise and Licence checks. You will also be a confident communicator who has experience designing and delivering training.
