The role: Our Customer Contact Experience (CCX) Technology Team develops and manages solutions to deliver an incredible experience for our UK and international customers. We also provide branded services for our Total Platform partners. This industry leading service is delivered through phone, chat, emails, and social media by our talented teams in Leicester, Doncaster, Poznan, and Pune. Life at NEXT is fast-paced and full on. In CCX, no two days are alike, and you will work collaboratively with the business and other tech teams to see the results of the systems you develop in action. We are at an advanced stage of a successful modernisation programme, overhauling our applications to ensure we never stand still.
What you'll take on:
- Design and develop manual and automated tests using your expert knowledge to produce robust test plans and strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement of testing scripts to ensure we are always evolving our coverage.
- Collaborate across disciplines, working with functional, non-functional, security, and API testing teams.
- Liaise with developers and key business users, providing clear updates and alerting the team to potential or critical issues.
- Proactively seek out emerging technologies and practices that add value to our platform.
- Share your knowledge with the team to help everyone grow and succeed together.
- Embrace Agile practices by actively participating in all ceremonies.
What you'll bring: Essential Criteria:
- Extensive experience in both manual testing and test automation.
- Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks that validate functionality at different levels of the technology stack.
- Proven ability in test planning, analysis, and scripting.
- Practical CI/CD experience and a strong understanding of Agile techniques.
- Expertise in developing and maintaining automation frameworks for Web, APIs, and Microservices.
- Experience throughout the full SDLC, from planning and analysis to execution and evaluation.
- A team-first mindset with excellent communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Technical proficiency in creating and maintaining automated C# test suites.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of: Azure DevOps, Leapwork, Selenium, Browserstack, Playwright, C#, XML, and RestAssured.
- Experience in: Performance, cross-browser, mainframe, iOS, and Android device testing.
- Familiarity with: Testing peripheral devices and working with onshore teams.
- Understanding of: TDD and/or BDD.
Professional Qualification: ISTQB or equivalent.
