Based at Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire. Working Pattern: 5 days a week onsite, with some flexibility once embedded into the role. Core hours between 8am to 6pm.
The Role
Let’s talk quality. Our Fabric Technology team is dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of quality for Next products, working alongside Designers, Buyers, Merchandisers and Garment Technologists in Menswear. The role involves travelling to factories/mills/laundries, sourcing fabrics and yarns, and driving continuous improvement in quality.
Responsibilities
- Travel to factories/mills and laundries to source fabrics and yarns.
- Develop and elevate quality standards for textiles and garments.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Design, Buying, Merchandising, Garment Technology) to translate product requirements into high‑quality fabrics.
- Drive fabric development projects and review quality standards with suppliers.
- Guide product decisions in line with legal requirements and company guidelines.
Qualifications
- Senior level experience in fabric technology with proven knowledge of yarns, fibres and fabrics.
- Extensive technical expertise and exceptional eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of performance fabrics and their applications.
- Desirable experience in tailoring, mix & match product.
