With Next’s online business growing rapidly and its retail store brand remaining strong, buyers have the key responsibility of creating attractive and profitable product ranges across the business. They collaborate with Designers, Merchandisers, and Technologists to develop stylish new collections for each season.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join our Menswear team on a maternity cover basis. This role offers a fantastic chance for a self‑motivated professional to embrace, nurture, and develop this product area. You will be responsible for planning and buying the product assortment and overall customer proposition, delivering agreed KPIs for sales, profit, and stock.

  • Work with Designers and Merchandisers to analyse market data and plan category assortment with competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with specialist functions such as Product Technology and Sourcing across multi‑product categories to develop the collection.
  • Manage critical path and ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Trade Next’s own ranges, license and artist collaborations, acting quickly to identify new product opportunities.
  • Identify new global sourcing opportunities.
  • Work with the e‑commerce team to optimise online sales through TOV, imagery, and other optimisation tools.

About You:

  • Excellent analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to interpret latest trends for the target customer.
  • Proven track record of reducing critical path and trimming trade ranges in season.
  • A strategic thinker capable of managing a large team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and a strong team player.
