We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Fabric Technologist to join the Next Childrenswear team. Supporting the fabric technology process from design concept to delivery, developing and elevating fabric quality is key. Innovation is a core focus at Next and this role offers opportunities to work alongside the Fabric Technologist, product team and suppliers, reviewing fabric developments, setting and reviewing standards, and supporting the buying and design team to meet quality, sustainability and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support fabric technology from concept to delivery.
  • Review fabric developments and set standards.
  • Work with suppliers, the fabric technologist, product and buying teams.
  • Guide decisions in line with Next quality expectations and sustainability goals.

About You

A team player with excellent people skills and strong communication for a multi‑functional team. Exceptional eye for detail and technical expertise in woven and jersey kids products. Demonstrate an understanding of fabric sourcing, manufacturing, construction and performance. Show drive and initiative to generate new ideas and implement them in the department.
