We have an exciting opportunity for a Multiproduct Garment Technologist to join our very talented Technical team. This role will be based at the Next Head Office in central London, working Hybrid between office/home. You will own the technical development across Lipsy soft separates, working closely with our Buying and Design teams to proactively manage quality assurance and identify any manufacturing or performance risks and escalate these. You will apply knowledge and understanding of product construction, fabric/yarn capabilities, finishes and performance, print and embellishment techniques, fabric testing and test report evaluation to achieve a great product.
You will be…
- Driving fit sessions to ensure accuracy of information and product compliance with Next standards.
- Following sealing procedures and facilitating the process.
- Carrying out risk assessments to ensure product compliance and safety.
- Completing fabric tests and advising solutions on failing fabrics/yarns.
- Making suggestions for improvements on policies and processes and on product/component reports.
- Effectively managing the product approval process and clearly communicating non-compliance to the necessary teams and suppliers.
- Working closely with Buying and Design to progress effective product development and to proactively manage quality assurance.
- Initiating product comparisons and benchmarking against competition and in line with industry innovation.
- Ensuring suppliers understand Technical standards and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and CSR.
- Working towards key dates and guidelines driven by the critical dates to the business.
- Taking responsibility to solve any quality issues in the most cost effective and profit conscious way whilst maintaining customer focus.
- Ensuring product is fit for purpose and meets all Legal and Health & Safety standards.
Your Talent
- Experienced Garment Technologist with relevant experience across womenswear, working at a high street fashion retailer.
- Able to work in a busy fast paced environment, adaptable and not afraid of change.
- Proficient with the use of excel and comfortable with the use of other internal systems.
- Demonstrable experience of fabric testing and test report evaluation across multi product.
- Experience in dealing with a broad supply base including overseas suppliers.
- Proficient at building effective relationships, communicating and engaging with colleagues and suppliers at all levels.
- Someone who will take a proactive approach to all aspects of your work, with an emphasis on continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve the business.
- Able to work as part of a team and independently.
