At NEXT, we work at pace and we never stand still. Our logistics operation is a large‑scale international business and we are looking for a Finance Trainee to join our team of 30 specialists at Elmsall. This is a great opportunity to build your professional experience within a fast‑moving retail environment. You will gain hands‑on experience from day one, supporting a network that spans nine warehouses and international hubs across Ireland, Germany and the Middle East. The role is offered on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract.
Responsibilities
- Learning to evolve by assisting with month‑end accounts and financial reporting.
- Supporting balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances to keep our data accurate.
- Producing weekly and monthly KPI reports that help our operational teams work smart.
- Inviting collaboration by working closely with Distribution and Operations teams to understand costs.
- Assisting with forecasting, budgeting and monthly finance packs.
- Supporting projects like investment appraisals and onboarding new third‑party clients.
Qualifications
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics, or relevant finance experience.
- An interest in studying towards ACCA or CIMA qualifications.
- Strong numerical skills and confidence working with data in Excel.
- Great attention to detail and a problem‑solving mindset.
- The ability to speak clearly and build relationships across different departments.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well in a changing environment.
