At NEXT we have a great opportunity for an Online Fraud Investigator to join our Online Loss Prevention team based in Doncaster. In this role, you’ll be the person we call on to investigate suspected fraudulent returns and account activity. You won’t just find the data; you’ll get under the skin of it to identify trends and link evidence that protects NEXT from significant annual losses.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed investigations to detect and prevent organised crime across all delivery channels.
- Create evidence-led case files in line with regulatory requirements, preparing them for civil recovery or criminal prosecution.
- Interrogate our systems and Loss Prevention tools to disrupt criminal activity in real time.
- Act as a subject matter expert for our Operational and Field Teams, resolving complex queries and providing clarity.
- Respond to law enforcement requests and represent the business in court when required, speaking with clarity and belief.
- Identify where we can improve and make recommendations to the Head of Online Loss Prevention to reduce future losses.
What you’ll bring
- Experience using SQL to extract data and the ability to interpret complex information to find the truth.
- Self-motivated and able to make considered, autonomous decisions based on sound evidence.
- Clear communication with the ability to pass on vital intelligence effectively at all levels of the business and with external partners like the Police.
- You understand the importance of confidentiality and have a strong grasp of the regulatory framework surrounding criminal investigations.
- Strong team player, who is also able to work on their own initiative with attention to detail.
