Your code will directly handle millions of transactions, supporting over 10 million active customers across more than 150 international sites.

About the team: We are hiring across the Online Ordering Product Group, which sits at the heart of the customer journey, managing critical areas from the moment a customer chooses an item to the point of purchase and account management. You will join 1 of 3 high-impact, cross-functional teams in our Doncaster hub, each with a focused mission:

  • Checkout Payments: Operating in a highly regulated area, this team ensures our payment options (including wallets, express payments, and international currency) are secure, compliant, and seamless. Quality cannot be compromised.
  • Checkout Delivery: Focused on the crucial step of delivery selection, working with external services to provide accurate options and expectations for our global customer base.
  • My Account: Manages the customer profile space, focusing exclusively on new customer Sign Up, Auth, and the associated integration points critical for secure customer onboarding.

The role: You will be a key player in our multi-year strategic programme to refactor core monolith functionality into modern, cloud-native services. This role is not just maintenance; it is platform engineering at retail scale, requiring an active contribution to technical design, architecture review, and the implementation of resilient, highly-available systems in Azure. We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking team players to join us as a Developer. You will be key in injecting energy and driving the quality of execution across our product group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Delivery: Write, test, and deploy high-quality code from concept through to delivery and beyond.
  • Problem Solving: Apply imaginative solutions to complex problems in a demanding, fast-paced retail environment.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with Product Owners and necessary departments across the business.
  • Support: Provide development support to internal users and offer out-of-hours cover on a rota basis.
  • Improvement: Continually feedback your expertise and experience to help drive internal best practices.

A fast-paced, encouraging and supportive environment in which everyone brings an energy and a commitment to delivering for our customers and their own careers. Our Product-led teams operate with a high degree of autonomy. Developers own the full lifecycle of their features, from technical design and code review to automated deployment and production monitoring (DevOps culture). You will be empowered to drive the technical direction of your specific product area.

Your Career Trajectory: With new roles across 3 complex, mission-critical product areas, we provide a clearly defined and measurable path to Senior Developer, Lead Developer and beyond.
