Designer - Nightwear - Friends Like These (Part time) | Location: Head Office, Tottenham Court Road, London | Working style: Hybrid

Role: Designer to lead the design and development of the nightwear department, creating a balanced offer with required pricing structure and margins. Collaborate with Design and Buying teams to deliver best-selling styles informed by trend predictions and fast fashion cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery of the nightwear collection
  • Work closely with the Design and Buying teams to create best-selling styles
  • Present new product ranges to management and buying teams
  • Create mood and trend boards seasonally, plus colour palettes and print research
  • Liaise with factories and suppliers daily, ensuring smooth relationships and quality samples
  • Identify new opportunities for trends and sourcing through collaboration with Buying, suppliers and factories
  • Delegate work to shared Design Assistants where appropriate
  • Attend inspirational trips across Europe
  • Produce concepts, trends, and storyboards
  • Understand pricing, margins, and design-to-price planning
  • Liaise with production on all order approvals and costing

Qualifications

  • Eye for colour, trends and fashion
  • Previous design experience from a high street fashion retailer
  • Able to drive and influence product vision and direction
  • Excellent free-hand fashion illustration skills
  • Excellent technical garment drawing skills
  • Awareness of the retail industry and ability to deliver results
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage own time and work to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality designs
  • Strong written and verbal communication
