The Role
Transport Team Managers at NEXT work closely with the Transport Assistant Site Manager in the fast‑paced, time‑critical transport operation to ensure it runs smoothly, accurately and cost effectively. The Bristol Regional Service Centre plays a pivotal role ensuring that stores in the South West & Wales are stocked and our online customers receive the service they expect from the brand. You will work a 4 on, 4 off rotation on the busy night shift between 18:00-06:00. This role requires a talented and dynamic first‑line transport manager to lead and motivate the team.
What You’ll Take On
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the team on shift is well organised, trained and motivated to deliver the operational efficiency targets and that all processes are fully H&S compliant.
- Managing, training and coaching a team of Drivers (LGV and Van).
- Managing Driver hours and controlling tachograph infringements.
- Ensuring full adherence to statutory road transport legislation, O‑licence requirements and Company policies and procedures.
- Daily and weekly planning to achieve targets and monitor performance.
- Monitoring and investigating accidents and incidents, identifying root cause and implementing recommendations.
What You’ll Bring
You have the ability to act independently, think on your feet, manage changing priorities, work well under pressure and make sound operational decisions. You also possess proven people‑management skills and experience in a busy transport function, with solid knowledge of road transport legislation, O‑licence requirements and Driver hours.
