We are seeking a freelance Graphic Designer with a strong understanding of typography and slogans and great drawing skills to be part of our Lipsy Print Design team 1-2 days per week. You will need to have a super feminine handwriting and a great use of type to innovate and make our graphics feel fresh and new.
Role Purpose: You will design and create beautiful graphic front prints that are distinctive to our dedicated brand handwriting. You will have creative and artistic flair with fresh, new and innovative ideas for typography, slogans, graphic illustration and techniques. We are passionate about print and graphics and are looking for someone who loves it as much as we do. We are looking for an expert to really help drive this area of the business forward.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for driving the graphic print direction and delivering commercial and inspirational designs that our customers will love across womenwear and girlswear, including novelty briefs such as Christmas.
- Identifying key graphic prints, colour and technique trends for the season and interpreting them to suit the Lipsy customer.
- Creating graphic print trend boards and driving newness across departments.
- Creating beautiful, elevated placement prints with innovative typography and slogans, sister AOP prints and artworks for techniques, knit and embroideries.
- Understanding pricing, margins, and design to price point.
- Preparing print packs for factories to clearly understand.
- Building and maintaining great relationships with our Design and Buying team.
- Occasionally presenting new print designs and trends to the Lipsy Design Team and management.
Role Requirements:
- Have excellent knowledge of graphic design, fashion, and print techniques.
- Previous experience working in a high street, print studio or supplier environment.
- An expert in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Be flexible, open to feedback and take a collaborative approach.
- Able to design trend relevant and commercial prints.
- Broad understanding of current competitive marketplace.
- Able to translate trends into a commercial way for the customer.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with the team.
- Great organisation skills and the ability to adjust to changes and work flexibly.
- Demonstrate a can-do attitude and resilience.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
