Lead Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant

Contract Type: Freelance (Full-time)

Duration: 6 months (Renewable)

Start Date: March

Location: Hybrid (UK-based)

Travel: UK travel required for client site visits

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Implementation: Take full ownership of the project lifecycle, from initial discovery and scoping through to go-live and post-implementation support.
  • Solution Architecture: Conduct fit-gap analyses to determine where standard functionalities meet requirements or custom development is required.
  • Documentation: Author high-quality Functional Design Documents (FDD) and technical specifications for the development team.
  • Data Strategy: Lead complex data migration workstreams using Configuration Packages and ETL logic.
  • Stakeholder Leadership: Manage C-suite expectations, project budgets, and scope creep while acting as the primary point of contact for the client.
  • Mentorship: Oversee junior consultants and provide clear functional guidance to the technical team.
  • Training: Design and execute "Train the Trainer" programs to ensure high user adoption and successful project handover.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of functional experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/NAV.
  • Module Expertise: Expert-level configuration skills in Finance, SCM, Sales, and Purchasing modules.
  • Technical Standards: Deep understanding of MB-800 standards and the wider Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Information Systems is preferred.
  • Certification: MB-800 (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate) is highly preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to navigate complex business transformation environments and manage diverse project teams.
