Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced S/4HANA Finance Architect to join a major transformation programme within the Oil & Gas / Energy sector .

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on and architectural experience across SAP S/4HANA Finance , with particular expertise in Trading & Risk accounting within an energy or commodities environment.

This is a key architecture role requiring someone who can bridge business requirements, finance processes and SAP technology, working closely with Finance, Trading, Risk and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and define the SAP S/4HANA Finance architecture across the programme.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Finance solutions within an Oil & Gas / Energy trading environment.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise across Trading & Risk accounting , including integration between trading platforms and SAP Finance.
  • Translate complex Finance, Trading and Risk requirements into robust SAP solution designs.
  • Define end-to-end finance processes covering areas such as GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Controlling, Treasury and financial reporting .
  • Ensure appropriate integration between S/4HANA Finance and commodity/trading platforms, risk systems and other enterprise applications.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand current processes, identify gaps and define the target operating model.
  • Produce and maintain solution architecture, process flows, integration designs and technical documentation.
  • Provide architectural governance and ensure solutions align with SAP best practice and the wider enterprise architecture.
  • Support design decisions around S/4HANA migration, integration, data and reporting .
  • Work closely with implementation partners, SAP functional teams, developers and programme leadership.
  • Identify risks, dependencies and architectural issues and drive them through to resolution.
  • Support testing, deployment and transition into BAU.
