On behalf of a defense client with offiices dotted across the UK, we are looking for a IT project manager, to join a exciting project with long term prospects.
- Project management experience; eQube knowledge is beneficial but not required, particularly for DAS or applications projects.
- Domain knowledge preference (not essential): PLM, ERP, CAD, EAM, engineering or manufacturing.
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS, Cameo and/or SAP would be advantageous.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects and takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects (typically with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies). Ensures that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained. Monitors and controls resources, revenue, and costs against the project budget and margin, and manages expectations of all project stakeholders.
Scope:-
- Takes time out to appropriately reflect on the direction of the project and recommend feasible improvements, taking into account lessons learnt and current trends. Influences key stakeholders to agree in-flight changes to the project approach (where necessary), utilizing best practices and/or Atos standards.
- Is able to lead medium size (up to 20 staff - Atos team), multi-site/disciplined project team, where Atos is acting as prime to sub- contractors and where the technology/solution to be delivered is mature but may include aspects outside of own domain expertise.

- Provides accruals and tracking of cost of work done, with evidence of corrective actions taken to minimize adverse variances to budget.
- Manages risks, issues and assumptions associated with medium complexity, multi-streamed projects involving technologies and resources (inc. 3rd parties) outside of domain expertise. Quantified risks may be commercial and/or activity based.
- Is able to leverage Atos tools and processes whilst reconciling costs.
- Manages seamless handover of the project outputs that are accepted by the client and/or standing Atos organisation, including service acceptance
Skillset and Experience
- Plans and controls projects with external dependencies. Re-plans/baselines to maintain expected outcomes,
- Manage scope and milestone changes.
- Proactively, using documented time-bound actions and outcomes, manages risks, issues and Changes
- Leverages tools and processes in multi-project environments, whilst reconciling multiple cost/revenue streams.
- Engages stakeholders and combines defined tools/processes to minimize duplication and maintain effectiveness
- Adapts to changing circumstances, adopting different roles where appropriate to fit with a new (customer) environment. Experiments with new ways of doing things and takes a positive approach to change
Qualifications
- Has been successful in the role of Project Manager or has 4-6 years prior project experience of leading small to medium-sized projects.
- Must be fully mobile in terms of assignment location
- Has a proven record of realistic estimation and demonstrates financial/cost awareness, along with the customer-facing and behavioural skills to take responsibility for medium-sized projects
- Experience of managing projects with a value of Β£1M - Β£2M
- Ideally would have at least one of External Project Management Certification
