Role Summary
The SAP Manufacturing Solution Architect is responsible for designing and governing the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA manufacturing solution for automotive clients.
The role ensures the SAP landscape supports complex vehicle manufacturing operations, including multi-plant production, sequencing, model-year changeovers, supplier collaboration, regulatory compliance, and global distribution.
Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, the architect defines the target solution, drives best-practice adoption, and ensures seamless integration across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, quality, and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA manufacturing solution architecture for automotive operations.
- Lead solution design across manufacturing, production planning, logistics, quality management, and supply chain processes.
- Ensure SAP capabilities support multi-plant manufacturing, just-in-time/just-in-sequence production, model-year transitions, and engineering changes.
- Define integration between SAP and MES, PLM, warehouse, supplier, and shop-floor systems.
- Govern solution standards, architecture principles, and SAP best practices throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and third-party partners to ensure solutions meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Provide architectural leadership during design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare phases.
- Identify opportunities for process standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience delivering SAP S/4HANA manufacturing solutions within the automotive industry.
- Strong expertise across SAP Production Planning (PP), Manufacturing, Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Quality Management (QM), and Supply Chain processes.
- Proven experience designing integrated SAP solutions supporting complex manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of automotive production processes, supplier collaboration, sequencing, and global supply chain operations.
- Experience integrating SAP with MES, PLM, automation, and other manufacturing technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and architecture governance skills.
