Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Lead to support a major SAP transformation programme for a leading organisation based in Leicestershire. The successful contractor will lead all aspects of SAP data migration, governance, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities across the programme lifecycle. You will work closely with business stakeholders, functional leads, technical teams, and third-party partners to ensure high‑quality data delivery into the SAP environment. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong SAP data migration expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to drive delivery within complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end SAP data migration activities across the programme
- Define and implement data migration strategy, governance, and standards
- Manage data cleansing, mapping, validation, and reconciliation processes
- Coordinate business and technical teams to ensure timely delivery of migration activities
- Oversee SAP data load cycles, mock migrations, and cutover activities
- Work closely with SAP functional and technical consultants across modules
- Identify and mitigate data‑related risks and issues
- Produce regular progress reporting and status updates for programme stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with data quality and governance requirements
- Support testing phases including SIT, UAT, and dress rehearsals
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an SAP Data Lead on large‑scale SAP transformation programmes
- Strong SAP data migration experience across ECC and/or S/4HANA environments
- Expertise with SAP data migration tools and methodologies
- Strong understanding of:
- Data mapping
- Data cleansing
- Data governance
- Data reconciliation
- Cutover planning
- Experience managing offshore and cross‑functional teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently within fast‑paced delivery environments
