The Finance Lead will provide strategic, functional, and delivery leadership for the Finance workstream within a major ERP transformation programme. The role ensures that financial processes, controls, data, and reporting are designed, delivered, and embedded in line with best practice, statutory requirements, and the organisation’s target operating model. This position acts as the primary bridge between Finance, Technology, and the wider programme, ensuring the solution meets business needs and supports long‑term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance Workstream Leadership
- Lead the end‑to‑end Finance workstream across design, build, testing, data migration, cutover, and go‑live.
- Provide expert guidance on Oracle Fusion Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, CM, Projects, Expenses, Tax).
- Ensure alignment with the organisation’s financial strategy, statutory obligations, and audit requirements.
- Drive adoption of standardised, best‑practice processes and challenge unnecessary customisation.
- Functional Design & Process Transformation
- Lead the definition of future‑state Finance processes, controls, workflows, and reporting structures.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for Oracle Fusion.
- Oversee configuration decisions, ensuring they reflect accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and operational needs.
- Support the development of the Target Operating Model, including roles, responsibilities, and segregation of duties.
- Data, Controls & Reporting
- Oversee Finance data migration strategy, including data quality, mapping, cleansing, and reconciliation.
- Ensure robust financial controls, audit trails, and compliance frameworks are embedded in the solution.
- Lead the design of management information, statutory reporting, dashboards, and analytics within Fusion and associated tools.
- Define and oversee Finance testing scope: SIT, UAT, payroll/period‑end scenarios, and parallel runs.
- Ensure readiness for period‑end, year‑end, and statutory reporting in the new system.
- Support cutover planning, ensuring Finance activities are sequenced, resourced, and risk‑managed.
- Lead hypercare activities and ensure smooth transition to BAU support.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership
- Act as the senior Finance representative across programme governance forums.
- Engage proactively with Finance leadership, service managers, auditors, and external partners.
- Support change management activities, including training, communications, and business readiness.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Finance SMEs and operational teams.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
- Significant experience leading Finance transformation within large, complex organisations.
- Hands‑on experience delivering ERP Finance solutions, ideally with Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage senior stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge of financial processes: GL, AP, AR, FA, Projects, Tax, Cash Management, and reporting.
- Experience in data migration, financial controls, audit requirements, and period‑end processes.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Experience in finance, Section 151 environments, or public‑sector audit.
- Understanding of SaaS delivery models, cloud governance, and integration patterns.
- Ability to challenge constructively, influence at senior levels, and drive consensus.
