Our bank staff receive the same quality training, development opportunities, and safeguarding responsibilities as our permanent colleagues. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining consistency, safety, and emotional security for the children and young people we support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the permanent team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Support children with daily routines, education, activities, appointments, and life skills.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and safeguarding documentation.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, statutory guidance, and regulatory standards (including Ofsted).
  • Contribute to a warm, structured, and stable home environment.
  • Be willing to work a variety of shifts — including days, evenings, weekends, and sleeps — based on your availability.

What You’ll Bring

  • A compassionate, patient, and child‑focused approach.
  • Ability to remain calm, confident, and emotionally resilient in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams and professionals.
  • Flexibility and reliability when covering shifts.
  • An understanding of safeguarding, trauma‑informed care, and professional boundaries (training provided).
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable people is ideal but not essential — the right attitude is what matters most.

Training & Development

  • Full induction and shadowing.
  • Mandatory training consistent with permanent staff.
  • Opportunities to further your knowledge and skills through ongoing CPD.
  • Access to supervision, learning sessions, and wellbeing support.
  • The chance to apply for permanent roles as they arise.

  • Full training — setting you up for success from day one.
  • Experience — a great route into residential childcare or career progression.
  • Impact — make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.
