Let’s talk trend led fabric sourcing. In UK retail, this company focuses on quality and trends within design. We sell thousands of items an hour and our repeat customer base returns for trend led, quality products. For anyone in the Womenswear field – this is the place to learn, grow and thrive.
A keen eye for spotting fabric trends is part of the role, as well as a true passion for bringing these trends to life, developing and sourcing fabrics globally. Drive constant fabric newness in the Womenswear division, ensuring fabrics are relevant to Next’s customer base and helping to set us apart from competition.
A creative role that involves researching catwalk themes and identifying fabric trends when visiting fabric fairs. An effective communicator who can present this information back to the Womenswear teams and senior managers, conveying the macro themes of the season.
Produce directional fabric boards and trend reports as a key part of the role. Build relations and work closely with multiple buying and design departments to show sourced fabrics, discuss requirements and ensure they are commercially viable.
A good awareness of different fabric types and an established mill network is ideal, with experience across regions and mills to source from. Visiting fabric mills in-country and attending trade fairs (e.g., Paris, Shanghai, London Textile Fair) is integral to the role, continuously gathering inspiration and sourcing commercial fabrics each season.
