We are looking for a Development Chemist to join a dynamic R&D team developing innovative veterinary pharmaceutical products for global markets.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across the full product lifecycle, from early-stage formulation and process development through to scale-up and regulatory submission.
Responsibilities
- Developing and optimising pharmaceutical formulations across a range of dosage forms, including oral, injectable, and topical products.
- Supporting process development, scale-up, and manufacturing activities.
- Conducting physico-chemical analysis of APIs and finished products.
- Assisting with analytical method development and validation.
- Preparing technical documentation to support regulatory submissions.
- Applying Quality by Design (QbD) principles to product development projects.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary R&D, analytical, and manufacturing teams.
Qualifications
- Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 2β5 years' experience within pharmaceutical development, formulation, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of GMP/GxP and ICH guidelines.
- Experience analysing scientific data and supporting development decisions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within cross-functional teams.
Required Skills
- QbD, DoE, Minitab, or Design-Expert.
- Oral solid dosage, sterile injectable, or topical formulation experience.
- Technology transfer and scale-up activities.
- Veterinary pharmaceutical experience.
Location: Northern Ireland (Onsite)
This role is based on a manufacturing site that handles penicillin compounds, so will not be suitable for individuals with a penicillin allergy.
