Software Engineer

NextMatch AI (www.nextmatch.ai) is building a new infrastructure for hiring. Instead of sending CVs into job board black holes, we push verified candidates directly into employer systems and use AI to match, rank, and route them to real jobs. We are hiring a Software Engineer to work on our core platform. This includes candidate journeys, employer dashboards, the matching engine, payment and verification systems, and third-party integrations. We are open to strong junior and mid-level engineers who learn fast, as well as senior engineers who can own large parts of the stack. If you are hungry, product-minded, and willing to stretch, we want to hear from you. You will ship production features end-to-end and help us scale a platform that must handle thousands of candidates and employers safely and reliably.

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and maintain core product features for candidates and employers
• Develop and consume REST and GraphQL APIs and integrate third-party services such as ATS, payments, and identity
• Work with databases, authentication, permissions, and background jobs
• Collaborate with product, design, and data or AI teams to define requirements and success metrics
• Write clean, testable code and take part in code reviews and architecture discussions
• Improve performance, reliability, and security across the stack
• Help shape engineering culture, tooling, and best practices as we grow

Example Tech Stack

You do not need all of these, but experience with some is a strong plus:

• Frontend: React or Next.js, TypeScript, modern CSS frameworks
• Backend: Node.js with Express or Nest, or similar modern frameworks
• Data: PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis, queues, or background workers
• Infrastructure: AWS or another major cloud, Docker, CI, and CD pipelines
• Bonus: payment APIs, authentication systems, ATS, or HR integrations

What We Are Looking For

• 3 - 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Solid foundation in web fundamentals, data structures, APIs, and debugging
• Experience with at least one modern backend stack and one frontend framework
• Ability to take a feature from idea through design, implementation, and deployment
• Product mindset and interest in user impact, not only technical tickets
• Comfortable working in a remote-first, fast-moving startup environment
• Clear written and spoken English and good collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience in HR tech, marketplaces, or SaaS platforms
• Exposure to AI or ML products, ranking or recommendation systems
• Experience in early-stage startups or as a founding or core engineer
