At NextLink we are looking for a Scientist, Antibody Formulation Development. The Injectable Formulation Development (IFD) group, part of the Development Sciences department, plays an essential role in supporting all ongoing projects by supplying efficient formulations for all stages of the monoclonal antibody development process from Toxicology studies to Phase 3 Clinical studies. The IFD group is continuously looking at improving and developing fast and efficient formulation technology platforms thus enhancing the stability of standard antibodies as well as novel antibody formats.

We are seeking a lab‑based scientist skilled in protein/antibody analysis (e.g., HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, sub‑visible particle analysis). Experience in formulation development and/or automation will be seen as an advantage. The required candidate should have a strong scientific background, good written and verbal communication skills and be highly self‑motivated with a proven ability to multi‑task effectively and adapt to meet the demands of a fast‑paced environment. Successful candidates will be joining a dynamic team interacting cross‑functionally with different departments throughout the product development and lifecycle.

Primary responsibilities

  • Performing experiments/analyses and other enabling studies to support non‑clinical and clinical studies
  • Supporting pre‑formulation and formulation laboratory activities which include laboratory set‑up and provision of technical resources
  • Authoring formulation protocols, reports and supporting documentation, based on a deep understanding of biochemical or physical degradation routes of antibody‑derived molecules
  • Presentation of results

Requirements

  • Masters (or equivalent) or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or similar, with a demonstrated minimum of 3 years laboratory experience, knowledge and application of new and developing technologies
  • Good experience in protein/antibody analysis (HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI) with experience in formulation development and/or automation seen as an advantage
  • High level of numeracy and the ability to critically evaluate data
  • Ability to work in a busy team environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent team player skills
