Within the Global HTA and Payers organisation, the Evidence Synthesis Manager plays a key role in shaping how payer strategy is translated into high-quality, decision-ready evidence and value communication that supports asset and access success. The role reports to the Evidence Synthesis Lead and works with relevant sub-team members to contribute to the development and implementation of agreed payer strategy through global deliverables, particularly through the Market Access Strategy Summary (MASS).

The Manager provides evidence-based inputs, drafting support and integration of cross-functional contributions, translating the strategic direction set by the Evidence Synthesis Lead into coherent global deliverables. The role is accountable for leading the development and maintenance of core payer evidence and value deliverables for assigned assets and indications, working directly and/or through external partners as appropriate.

It provides significant exposure to asset-level strategy, cross-functional collaboration and global-local interactions, and is designed as a development role for future Market Access leaders.

  • Payer Evidence and Value Deliverables: Accountable for the development, maintenance and timely delivery of core payer evidence and value deliverables for assigned assets/indications, including Global Value Dossiers (GVDs), Detailed Assessment Reports (DARs), value narratives and objection handlers. Deliver these outputs directly and/or through effective management of external partners, retaining accountability for quality, consistency, integration and timelines.
  • Market Access Strategy Summary (MASS) Enablement: Develop and maintain payer evidence and value deliverables in line with the agreed Market Access Strategy Summary (MASS), ensuring consistency with the strategic direction set by the Market Access Strategy Lead. Provide evidence based inputs and drafting support that help translate strategic assumptions, scenarios, access risks and trade-offs into decision-ready materials.
  • Cross-Functional Evidence Alignment: Identify payer-relevant evidence gaps and access risks and coordinate with Health Economics and Real World Evidence colleagues to inform evidence-generation priorities. Provide structured evidence inputs to Health Economics and RWE leads for inclusion in relevant evidence governance forums (e.g. ISEG), ensuring consistency with agreed payer strategy.
  • Asset and Access Forum Support: Support preparation of payer evidence and value narratives for key asset and access forums (e.g. PSLT and asset strategy discussions), working through the Market Access Strategy Lead and Access Strategy Leads. Contribute evidence-based insights without owning forum governance or decision making.
  • Regional and Local Enablement: Enable Regional and Local teams through provision of globally aligned evidence tools, value narratives and objection handlers. Support local adaptation of global materials while maintaining consistency with global payer strategy and value positioning. Share learnings and best practices across Regions.
  • External Engagement and Scientific Communication: Coordinate input from external experts and partners (e.g. advisory boards, evidence partners) to strengthen payer-relevant value communication. Contribute to payer-relevant publications, abstracts and scientific communications where appropriate.

Essential Skills: Experience in market access related roles within the (bio)pharmaceutical industry or consulting (e.g., HTA, HEOR, outcomes research, payer evidence or access strategy). Experience supporting global or asset-level payer evidence or access projects.

Desirable Skills: Affiliate/country experience, or direct experience supporting affiliates with HTA submissions, payer interactions or local adaptation of global value materials. Understanding of payer and HTA decision-making in at least one major market.
