Our client is an industry leader in automated wrapping and packaging systems and has been successfully trading for over 4 decades. Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Field Service Engineer to join the business.
Responsibilities of Field Service Engineer:
- Having the ability to liaise with both customers and colleagues to ensure we maintain the customer service excellence that we pride ourselves on is essential to the role.
- Servicing, maintaining, and installing a range of equipment at customers' sites nationwide.
- Attend customers' sites in a timely manner to carry out the tasks assigned and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Respond to customer demand promptly and professionally, working autonomously as well as part of a wider team.
- Install new machines and provide full operator training individually and as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively to liaise with:
- Customers both on site and to help diagnose problems over the phone.
- The engineering and admin team.
- The sales team.
- Participation in training courses, as and when required.
- This post does involve regular travel and overnight stays at short notice, as required.
Required skills of Field Service Engineer:
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification.
- Field engineering experience is essential.
- PLC interrogation experience is essential, in particular Siemens S7/TIA & OMRON.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Polite telephone manner.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
- The ability to provide a digital job report on completion of a daily task using excellent English/Grammar.
Salary Range: £40,000 – £50,000 dependent upon experience and skill set. This is a salaried position with a companywide annual discretional bonus scheme. Guaranteed annual review. Contributory pension scheme currently to 3% of salary. A quality company vehicle (not a van but tax efficient) is provided which is fully expensed for personal use also. Any specialised tools required to do the job in hand. Fully expensed mobile phone for professional and personal use. An iPad is provided for service reports but can be used for personal use also.
