A leading, fast-growing communications agency is searching for an experienced Account Director to join the agency to take ownership of one of their flagship accounts.
As Account Director, you will act as the strategic lead across a major integrated marketing, engagement, and communications programme. You’ll deepen senior client relationships, shape annual and quarterly strategies, and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful campaigns across internal communications, employee engagement, and in-store activation.
This role suits someone who brings a blend of commercial awareness, strategic clarity, and creative curiosity - someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment and is confident advising senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Client & Strategy Leadership
- Act as the senior day-to-day partner for a major client, offering strategic guidance aligned to business priorities.
- Develop integrated communication and engagement strategies spanning digital, experiential, and traditional channels.
- Champion high creative and strategic standards across all work.
- Team & Delivery Management
- Lead and mentor account and project management teams, driving collaboration, accountability, and delivery excellence.
- Oversee resourcing, workflow, and cross-agency collaboration.
- Ensure consistent campaign quality, compliance, and smooth on-site activation support.
- Commercial & Financial Ownership
- Own budgeting, forecasting, billing, and account profitability.
- Identify and convert opportunities for upsell, cross-sell, and account growth.
- Lead proposals, pitches, and proactive strategic recommendations.
- Measurement & Reporting
- Define campaign KPIs and deliver meaningful reporting and insight using performance analytics and GA4.
- Lead quarterly reviews and present strategic recommendations at a senior level.
To be considered for this position, you'll need to have experience in the following:
- Proven experience as an Account Director within a communications, engagement, or integrated marketing agency.
- Experience ideally across B2B and B2C audiences.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity and influence senior stakeholders.
- Confidence in managing large-scale programmes, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in team and budget management.
£55-65k depending on experience. Hybrid working with regular meetings in London or Sussex.
