They are now looking for a Freelance Social Media Strategist who can elevate their approach across platforms and deliver clear, insight-led strategy that guides their internal content team.
Description
As the Freelance Social Media Strategist, you will be responsible for developing high-level, platform-specific social media strategies for the agency’s clients. This role is focused entirely on strategy, insight and direction. Not hands-on content creation. You will work closely with their Senior Social Media Executive, who will take your strategic recommendations and bring them to life through content.
This is a role suited to someone who thinks big-picture, understands consumer behaviour across platforms, and can articulate strategic direction clearly and confidently.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Develop social media strategies tailored to each client’s objectives, audiences and channels.
- Provide clear strategic frameworks, content pillars, customer journeys and channel recommendations.
- Use analytics, insights and platform behaviours to inform your strategic decisions.
- Identify opportunities for growth, experimentation and optimisation across social platforms.
- Collaborate with the internal Senior Social Exec, ensuring the strategic plan translates seamlessly into content execution.
- Present strategy documentation and rationale to the internal team, and occasionally to clients when required.
Experience
To be considered, you should have:
- Strong strategic understanding of social platforms, consumer behaviour, algorithms and emerging trends.
- Solid experience crafting social media strategies for brands (agency background ideal).
- Confidence using analytics tools to interpret data and turn insights into actionable recommendations.
- Experience with paid social is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and brand messaging skills. Able to distil complex ideas into clear direction.
Remuneration
- £200–£250 per day, depending on experience.
- Freelance/contract role with ongoing project work.
- Will require on-site time in the West Midlands for collaboration with the internal team, from time to time.
