We are working with a well-established engineering business in Tewkesbury who are looking to bring in a Stores Operative to support their Supply Chain team. The Stores Operative is a key role within the business, helping to ensure materials are received, stored, and issued correctly so production can run smoothly. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role, takes pride in being organised, and wants to be part of a busy, supportive team environment.
Stores Operative Duties Will Include:
- Receiving and unloading deliveries safely
- Checking goods against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Inspecting items for damage or discrepancies
- Booking stock into internal systems accurately
- Storing materials in the correct locations
- Issuing stock to production and internal teams
- Keeping stock records up to date
- Supporting stock checks and stock takes
- Working closely with purchasing and production teams
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe stores environment
Skills and Experience needed:
- Previous experience in a stores operative, warehouse, or stock control role
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of stock control processes
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude
- Good numeracy and organisational skills
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment - Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience using stock or ERP systems
- FLT licence (or willingness to be trained)
