Working hours for the Sliding Head Setter: Monday – Friday (14.00pm – 22.00pm)
Next Generation are currently recruiting for a Sliding Head Setter to work with a well-established sub contract machine shop based within the Redditch area. As the Sliding Head Setter you will be responsible for setting and operating Sliding Heads.
Duties of the Sliding Head Setter:
- Set and Operate CNC sliding head machines such as Tornos Deco with a TB Deco and/or Fanuc control, Star Fanuc control, Hanwha with Fanuc control
- Fanuc programming (Deco programming as advantage)
- Focus on production of high-quality components
- Maintain the section with offsets and tooling
- Leaving work area/machines in good condition at the end of shift in terms of material tooling
- Ability to leave machines running safely to support next operator starting at 6:45am
- Occasional simple repeat change overs
- Using measuring gauges
- To produce components within the agreed standard time
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Working to tight tolerances and in process measurements
- High precision tolerance works as well as volume
- Quality control, working to customer specification
The successful candidate for the Sliding Head Setter's position will have the following experience:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience Programming Setting and Operating Sliding Heads
- Experience working with precision machined components (Essential)
- Ability to use handheld measuring equipment (Essential)
- You will be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to communicate and build good relationships.
