We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and friendly business seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone hands-on, organised, and confident managing day-to-day accounting processes.

The Role

You will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end processes. The role offers variety and the chance to take ownership of core accounting duties, with additional responsibilities depending on workload capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger activities
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Supporting month-end accounting processes
  • Assisting with credit control
  • Sourcing cost-effective utility suppliers
  • Stationery ordering and office supply management

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience with Sage 50
  • Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger functions
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and VAT submissions
  • Exposure to month-end processes
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
