Due to continued growth, Next Generation are recruiting for a Tool Maker to work with a well-established Tier one company based near Sparkbrook. As the Tool Maker, you will be responsible for providing planned maintenance on press tooling.

Shift pattern for the Tool Maker:

  • Monday - Thursday (22:00 pm - 06:00 am)
  • Friday (17:00 pm - 10:30 pm)

Duties of the Tool Maker:

  • Reading engineering drawings to manufacture press tooling components confidently and competently.
  • Conducting test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; making adjustments as necessary.
  • Setting up and operating conventional and CNC machines.
  • Measuring finished parts to specifications using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.
  • Repairing and maintaining press tools, die repairs.
  • Attending breakdowns, identifying faults, and problem-solving at the press with minimal downtime to aid production.
  • Undertaking special projects as required.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Being prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by the company.

The successful candidate for the Tool Maker's position will have the following experience:

  • Apprentice trained (Desirable)
  • 3 - 5 years experience as a Toolmaker (Essential)
  • Overhead crane license; however, training will be provided (Desirable)
  • Basic understanding of drawings (Essential)
