Due to continued growth, Next Generation are recruiting for a Tool Maker to work with a well-established family-run Engineering business based in Birmingham. As the Tool Maker, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of machining for a business that has upheld a strong reputation with its clients across the UK.

Duties of the Tool Maker:

  • Reading engineering drawings to confidently and competently manufacture tooling components.
  • Conducting test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; making adjustments as necessary.
  • Setting up and operating conventional and CNC machines.
  • Measuring finished parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.
  • Minimising downtime to aid production.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Being prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by the company.

The successful candidate for the Tool Maker's position will have the following experience:

  • Apprentice trained (Desirable).
  • 3-5 years experience as a Toolmaker (Essential).
  • Ability to use XYZ machines (Essential).
