Due to continued growth, Next Generation are recruiting for a Tool Maker to work with a well-established Tier one company based near Sparkbrook. As the Tool Maker, you will be responsible for providing planned maintenance on press tooling.

Shift pattern for the Tool Maker:

  • Monday - Thursday (22:00 pm - 06:00 am)
  • Friday (17:00 pm - 10:30 pm)

Duties of the Tool Maker:

  • Reading engineering drawings to be able to confidently and competently manufacture press tooling components
  • To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; make adjustments as necessary
  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines
  • Be able to measure finished parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators
  • Repair and maintain press tools, die repairs
  • Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the press with minimal downtime to aid production
  • Undertake special projects as required
  • Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
  • Prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by the company

The successful candidate for the Tool Maker position will have the following experience:

  • Apprentice trained (Desirable)
  • 3 - 5 years experience as a Toolmaker (Essential)
  • Overhead crane license however training will be provided (Desirable)
  • Basic understanding of drawings (Essential)
